CLEVELAND CAVALIERS 107 – TEL AVIV MACCABI ELECTRA 80 – Recap Video

Lebron’s first game back as a Cavalier again, as well as Kevin Love’s first game with his new team. Everything was ready for the Cavs to shine in their first night, as no significant injury and a good summer for their players provided early good signs. However, the Cavs showed lack of defensive intensity, and unconvincing offense from their interior guys (even Love was not on track offensively). It is true that their bigs outrebounded 64-36 the Israeli team, but this is not enough for a team that everyone expects to be a title contender. Lots of work needs to be done by Cavs coach David Blatt on defense, even though offensively they will be hard to stop.

SACRAMENTO KINGS 94 – TORONTO RAPTORS 99 – RECAP VIDEO

Both teams knew this was a preseason game and that’s how they considered it since the beginning. Two young teams that want to show they can be playoff contenders (Raptors already are, but need to prove they are for the long term), but more importantly, two teams that need to show their fans their rosters are deep enough to play through the upcoming season at high level consistently. For Sacramento, they are in search for the post guy that can best complement DeMarcus Cousins, as it is seen that Jason Thompson is not (and has never been) ready to rise for the occasion. In particular, Reggie Evans might fit better than anyone because of his hardness, defense and rebounding ability. And with respect to guards, Darren Collison had a nice game, Stauskas shows his great shooting skills, and Ramon Sessions proved to be a nice guard off the bench. For the Raptors, they showed the same cards as last season. Lowry and DeRozan are the teams leaders, and the bench continues to have a great impact on the team’s success (now even more with the addition of Lou Williams and James Johnson).
